1. Who provides this service

Zeeshan Software House provides Zeeshan Software Backup, an optional Google Drive backup feature for supported Windows accounting software, including UMER Rice Mills Accounting. Contact us at zeeshansoftwarehouse@gmail.com.

This policy explains the backup feature, this information website, and the related desktop features described below. The accounting records you enter may include personal or financial information about your customers, suppliers and business. You decide what to enter and must have permission to process that information.

2. Google access and its purpose

The app requests the Google Drive permission https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This permission covers files the app creates or that you explicitly authorize for it. The current backup feature creates and manages its own backup folder and archives, lists available app backups, downloads a selected backup for recovery, and deletes older app backups according to your retention setting.

The backup feature does not request Gmail, contacts, calendar or unrestricted whole-Drive access. It reads Google Drive account information and storage quota to identify the account you connected and determine whether a backup can fit.

Google sign-in takes place in your system browser. The desktop app receives authorization tokens from Google; it does not receive or store your Google password.

3. Information processed

InformationPurpose and handling
Google account informationThe connected account's email address, Google Drive account identifier, and available display name identify the account. Storage totals, usage and remaining space support storage checks. Account and quota information is processed on the PC; the email, account identifier and quota details needed for the connection are saved locally.
Authorization tokensAn access token authorizes current Google requests. A refresh token allows later backups without asking you to sign in every time. The saved refresh token is protected with the Windows account's data protection service.
Saved accounting recordsThe app captures the complete native backup dataset supported by your installed accounting version. This can include customer and supplier records, invoices, receipts, payments, balances, product and stock records, company settings and native recovery records. The archive is encrypted on your PC before upload.
Backup metadataGoogle Drive receives the backup filename, which may contain your business name, plus file size, creation time, checksums, dataset identifier and a key identifier. These metadata are not encrypted as part of the archive. A key identifier is not the recovery key.
Recovery key and settingsThe encryption key is generated locally and protected under the Windows account. Your exported recovery-key file is kept wherever you save it. Backup schedule, retention, status, storage warnings and upload progress are also stored locally.
Support and website requestsIf you email us, your address and the information you choose to send are processed to answer your request. Website hosting and network services may process normal request information, such as IP address, browser details, requested page and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.

4. Storage, encryption and access

Your working accounting data remains on the PC. Temporary native backup and restore archives are processed locally. The cloud archive is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before it is sent to Google Drive over HTTPS. The backup connector communicates directly with Google's authorization and Drive services; it does not automatically send archive contents, Google refresh tokens or recovery keys to a Zeeshan Software House backup server.

The saved refresh token and encryption key use Windows account protection. This does not encrypt all working accounting files, metadata, exported keys or the entire PC. Protect your Windows account and any location where you export a recovery key.

Google stores the encrypted archive and visible metadata in the account you select, under Google's terms and privacy practices. The current backup folder is named UMER Software Backups; this is the compatibility name used by the desktop application.

Keep your recovery key separately. Google sign-in alone cannot decrypt an archive on a replacement PC. Zeeshan Software House does not receive a recovery-key copy through this connector and cannot reconstruct a lost key from the encrypted backup.

5. Use and sharing limits

Google account and Drive data obtained by this connector are used for the visible backup, storage-check, account-selection and restore features. They are not sold, used for advertising, used for credit decisions, or used to train AI or machine-learning models.

Information received through Google APIs is used and transferred only in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. This includes restricting access and transfers to the user-facing service, authorized support or security purposes, or applicable legal obligations.

Google receives data needed to authorize access and store or recover your backups. The provider does not automatically receive the contents of your Drive or backup archives. Human access to information you send for support is limited to the assistance you request, necessary security handling or legal obligations. Send only what is needed for the issue; never send your Google password or recovery key.

6. Retention and storage warnings

You can choose how many cloud backups to retain for a business. The current connector supports 2–365 copies and starts with a default of 30. After a new backup has been uploaded and verified, older copies beyond the setting are permanently deleted through the Drive API. Cleanup may be delayed by network or API errors. Review the retention setting because deleted old copies may not be recoverable.

The connector normally keeps the latest 10 encrypted backup copies locally, with an in-progress upload retained as needed. Normal accounting data, restore safety copies and other native backups follow the main application's storage behavior. A temporary plaintext archive can remain after an abnormal interruption and should be handled as sensitive accounting data.

When reported storage is 90% used, or remaining space is below the larger of 100 MiB and twice the next backup size, the current app pauses new uploads and records that account locally as requiring a switch. It asks for a different, dedicated Google account. The flagged account remains available for recovery; freeing space alone does not clear this app's saved switch requirement.

Connection credentials remain until disconnected or removed. Local recovery keys and backups remain until you remove them or applicable local cleanup runs. Support correspondence is kept as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations; you can contact us about deleting information you provided.

7. Disconnect, revoke access and delete data

  1. Stop cloud backup on this PC: open Cloud Backup → Google Drive Backup → Disconnect. This removes the saved Google connection and stops automatic cloud backup. It keeps the recovery key, local archives and cloud files.
  2. Revoke Google's authorization: open your Google Account's third-party connections, select this app and remove its access. This is separate from disconnecting locally.
  3. Delete cloud copies: disconnect the app first, then open Google Drive and remove the app's backup files or UMER Software Backups folder. Empty the relevant items from Drive's bin if you want permanent deletion, subject to Google's account policies.
  4. Remove local information: after stopping the app, remove the relevant cloud-backup settings, cached archives and exported recovery-key files from locations you control. The connector's settings and cache are under your Windows local application data in UMER/GoogleBackup. Contact support to identify the correct installation folder before removing it. Native accounting data and restore safety copies are separate.
  5. Ask about support information: email Zeeshan Software House using the contact address below to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us. Explain the request without sending passwords, tokens or recovery keys.

Deleting the only remaining recovery key or all backup copies can make recovery impossible. Revoking access does not itself delete files already stored in your Google Drive.

8. Other desktop features and this website

Voice control: if you enable online voice commands, the browser's speech service processes microphone audio to produce command text. Depending on the selected speech mode, processing may use the browser provider's online services or an installed local speech engine. This is separate from Google Drive backup authorization. The provided voice launcher does not save audio recordings or spoken transcripts in its timing logs. See Google's Privacy Policy for Google's services.

Licensing and updates: supported accounting builds contact the Zeeshan Software House licensing service, hosted on Cloudflare, using the licence key, a device identifier, app version and a request-validation value. This supports activation, periodic licence checks and update eligibility. Update downloads may be delivered through GitHub. Those network providers process normal connection information under their own policies. This does not give the backup provider your Google password or recovery key.

This website: these information pages do not ask for a Google login, collect accounting files or contain a backup upload form. We have not added advertising or analytics scripts to these pages. Hosting services may perform their own service and security processing. Contact links open your chosen email application. External services have their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Changes and contact

This policy applies from 16 October 2026. We will update this page when the described data handling changes. If a change introduces a new use of Google user data, the app must provide the required notice and obtain any required consent before that new use begins.
